New for 2010, Epic Events presents ‘The EPIC Lakes Swim Series’, a series of open water events at three different venues in the Lake District. The series starts at Coniston on Sunday 30th May 2010, then moves north to Derwent Water on Sunday 20th June 2010 with the grand finale at Ullswater on Sunday 11th July 2010.

Whatever your goal, be it the personal challenge, participation for charity or the glory of winning, the swim series will cater for all with 3 different race distances of 500m (£10), a mile (£15) and a 3.8k (£20) swim to attract swimmers of all abilities.

The Lake District truly provides a dramatic back-drop to the experience of all entrants to the open water swim series. Our aim is to create a safe environment for novice, experienced and potentially professional athletes to take on the challenge or simply gain the experience of open water swimming.

You can enter any of the three race distances, mix and match or build up to the big one at Ullswater.

As an entrant you will receive:-

q Electronic chip timing

q Boat safety cover

q Race memento

q The opportunity to win an individual event prize or an overall series prize

Race 3 Ullswater – Sunday 11th July 2010

Ullswater is the second largest body of open water in the Lake District at 7.5 miles long and 3/4 mile wide with a maximum depth of 205 feet. It sits to the east of the imposing Hellvelyn range and infamous striding edge. Glennridding sits on its western shore.

Start Location – Jenkins Field, Glenridding.
